(Only for Private Candidates)

(Private students have to submit the examination form (List of Candidates) on the web personally within schedule)

Subject:- Online submission of forms by Private Candidates of Classes X & XII, 2023 Supplementary Examination for –

(A) Compartment (1st chance)

(B) Compartment (3rd chance)

(C) Improvement of Performance in upto 02 subjects in class X (subject to the condition of valid combination of subjects as per date sheet) and 01 subject in class XII (Only for private candidates passed in 2023 Main exams and in the subjects whose list is enclosed in Annexure-5)

(D) Regular students of 2023 placed in Compartment category (1st chance) can apply only through their respective schools. Their school has to submit online LOC (List of Candidates). A separate circular for Regular candidates has also been issued and available at the web-link https://www.cbse.aov.in/cbsenew/cbse.html

In the light of the recommendations made in NEP-2020, nomenclature of the Compartment examinations has been changed to Supplementary examinations vide Notification no. CBSE/COORD/EC-Dec-2022/ITEM-3.08/2023/e-71926 dated 10 March 2023.

As the Board has declared the results of both class X & class XII, the process for submission of LOC for Supplementary Examination for Class X and Class XII, for session 2022-23 shall start w.e.f. 01.06.2023 (Thursday). The submission of applications for appearing in Supplementary Examination 2023 is to be done through the link given on CBSE Website cbse.nic.in/newsite/index.html.

Only those private students who submit the online application form alongwith the prescribed fees shall be allowed to appear for Supplementary Examinations, 2023, The following important information may be read and understood carefully:-

(1) Before filling the application form –

(a) Students who have appeared for the Board’s Examinations as regular students in the session 2021-22 or as private students in the session 2022- 23 and whose result has been declared as ‘Compartment’ should apply through online mode.

(b) No request for an extension of the date due to any reason or accepting any candidature after last date is over will be considered.

(2) The private students shall submit application forms for Supplementary Examinations-2023 as per the conditions of eligibility given in Annexure-I.

(3) In case of any difficuIty/queries regarding online submission, the IT Branch of the concerned Regional Offices can be contacted for clarification/assistance. The contact details of the regional offices are available on the link

(4) Consolidated mark sheet will be issued only to the students whose result was declared COMPARTMENT in Board’s Examinations 2023 and who will be declared as Pass in Supplementary Examinations 2023 .

(5) The Supplementary Examinations-2023 will be conducted based on the Syllabus prescribed for the Board examinations for session 2022-23, which is available on the CBSE website at the link
https://cbseacademic.nic.in/curriculum 2023.html.

(6) The Improvement of Performance in upto 02 subjects in class X (subject to the condition of valid combination of subjects as per date sheet) and 01 subject in class XII (Only for private candidates passed in 2023 Main exams and in the subjects whose list is enclosed in Annexure-5). Candidates of Class X wishes to appear for improvement will opt their subjects only as per datesheet.

(7) The application forms may be filled as per the current status of the result of the candidates.

(8) The schedule of Supplementary Examinations:-

(a) Supplementary Examination for class XII will be held on 17th July 2023 (Monday).

(b) Supplementary Examination for class X will be conducted from 17th July 2023 (Monday) to 22nd July, 2023 (Saturday). For details, please check date-sheet available on website.

(9) The dates for download of Admit Cards will be informed separately. In case of any discrepancy in the Admit card, the candidates should contact the concerned Regional Office of the Board immediately.

Annexure 1

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATIONS – 2023

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: CLASS XII
(A)Students who appeared under the category “Private” in full subjects (05) in Board’s Examinations, 2023 and result declared as COMPARTMENT are eligible to apply only in one subject in which placed in Compartment. OR
(B)Students who appeared under the category “Private” in Board’s Examinations, 2023 with 6 Subjects and placed in compartment in two subjects, are eligible to apply in any one of the two subjects. OR
(C)Students who appeared under category “Private” in Board’s Examinations, 2023 with 6 subjects and declared PASS but could not clear one subject, are eligible to apply in the failed subject under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted. OR
(D)Students who appeared under category “Private” in Board’s Examinations/Result, 2022 and result declared as COMPARTMENT, again placed in “COMPARTMENT” category at the 1st chance in Compartment Examination 2022 and yet again in 2nd chance Compartment Examination with Board examinations 2023 are eligible to apply only in one subject in which placed in Compartment, for 3rd and final chance in Supplementary Examinations-2023. The 3rd chance in Supplementary Examinations 2023 will be the last chance for the student who appeared for Board’s Examinations/Result 2022. OR
(E)Women and CWSN students of Delhi who appeared under category “Private” in Board’s Examinations, 2023 are eligible to apply in any one subject under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: CLASS X
(A)Students who appeared under the category “Private” in full subjects (05) in Board’s Examinations 2023 and result declared as COMPARTMENT are eligible to apply only in one or two subjects in which placed in Compartment. OR
(B)Students who appeared under category “Private” in Board’s Examinations, 2023 with 6/7 subjects and declared PASS due to replacement of subject(s) are eligible to apply in that subject(s) under Improvement of Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted, subject to the condition of valid combination of subjects as per date sheet. OR
(C)Students who appeared under category “Private” in Board’s Examinations/Result 2022 and result declared as COMPARTMENT, again placed in “COMPARTMENT” category at the 1st chance in Compartment Examination 2022 and yet again in 2ncJ chance Compartment Examination with Board examinations 2023 are eligible to apply only in one or two subjects in which placed in Compartment, for 3rcl and final chance in Supplementary Examination. The 3rd chance in Supplementary Examinations 2023 will be the last chance for students who appeared for Board’s Examinations/Result 2022 OR
(D)Women and CWSN students of Delhi who appeared under category “Private” in Board’s Examinations, 2023 are eligible to apply in up to two subjects under the Improvement of the Performance category only in the subjects whose examinations will be conducted, subject to the condition of valid combination of subjects as per date sheet.
