CBSE Skill Expo and Guidance Festival 2024
CBSE has planned to organize the event i.e. Skill Expo and Guidance Festival – 2024 from July 2024 onwards. The regional events shall comprising of all regions of the Board, leading to the National Level event to be held on 10th January, 2025 with an aim to encourage creativity, innovation and to foster peer learning of students, teachers and Principals alike
Benefits of participating in these events:
- Job Ready Skills: Orient students about the job ready skills of future such as AI, Robotics, Data Science, Genomics and so on. Give students right exposure to the fields and guide them on decision making.
- 21st Century Skills: Expose students to the need for essential skills like communication, critical thinking, and adaptability, preparing them for the ever-evolving job market.
- Guidance and Counselling: Provide expert guidance and group counselling sessions to assist students in understanding their strengths, interests, skill development and potential career options.
- Parental Involvement: Engage parents in the skill development and career planning process to create a supportive environment at home, facilitating better decision-making by students.
- Inspiring Dreams: Inspire young minds to dream big by showcasing success stories and role models from various fields, motivating them to strive for their skill development and aspirations.
- Exploring Pathways: Help students discover a wide range of skilling and career paths available to them, empowering them to make informed choices about their future.
- Industry Insights: Offer insights into current industry trends and emerging fields, helping students align their skill development and educational choices with the demands of the job market.

Registration schedule of the rest of the events shall be intimated in due course of time.
Important Points:
- Schools under the concerned Regional Office of the Board shall only be eligible for participation in the respective event.
- These events are for the students, teachers and Principals of CBSE affiliated schools.
- The participating school/team would bear all expenses related to participation in the event including lodging/boarding arrangements at the venue city.
- There is no fee for registering for these events.
- Shortlisted projects will be informed via e-mail on the email-id provided at the time of registration.
- Certificates will be awarded to the selected best entries at the Regional/National Level.
- The selected best exhibits at each Regional Level event will be eligible to participate in the National Level Exhibition.
- The decision of the committee members/experts for screening and judging the entries will be considered final.
- Separate instructions for both the events i.e. Skill Expo and Guidance Festival are annexed at Annexure A & B, respectively.
Venues of the remaining events shall be notified in due course of time through notifications, well in time from the event date.
All schools affiliated to the CBSE are requested to motivate and guide the students for maximum participation in this event, as and when the registration opens for the respective event.

ANNEXURE-A
Guidelines for participation in Skill Expo – 2024
- This event is restricted to the schools under the respective CBSE Regional Offices as mentioned.
- Schools must use their @cbseshiksha.in email id to register for participation in the respective Skill Expo.
- There is no fee for registering/participating in the Skill Expo.
- The details of participants must be provided through the Google form (using the respective link mentioned above) along with a brief write up about the exhibit.
- The teams would be required to submit the details of their respective projects (title, description, list of materials used, images, video) within the stipulated time-frame.
Eligibility for participation: The school may nominate their students (as team) to participate in one or both of the following categories:
- Category I – Classes 6 to 10
- Category II – Classes 11 to 12
For the Skill Expo, a School Team will be represented by:
- 1 Mentor Skill teacher
- 2 students per skill selected
Skill Expo will be organized at two levels-
- Regional level
- National level
Minimum one and maximum three teams (irrespective of themes) from one school can participate.
The schools whose exhibits have been selected for displaying in the Skill Expo shall be notified by email (on the Email ID provided at the time of Registration) giving ample time to the participants to prepare their exhibits.
The participating school/team would bear all expenses related to participation in the event including lodging/ boarding arrangements at the venue city.
Certificates will be awarded to the participants and the selected best entries.
The names of the students and the mentor teacher, once registered, cannot be changed at any stage of the exhibition. Similarly, the skill and themes once selected cannot be changed.
The project/exhibit to be showcased may be:
- process used to create an item/product.
- application of entrepreneurship
Care should be taken to use eco-friendly innovative material in the preparation of exhibits.
The screening of the entries would be done before the regional/national level exhibitions.
The decision of the committee members/ experts for screening the entries will be considered final.
Schools can either prepare or exhibit one skill on their own or they can include experts in the particular field also.
The exhibits will be assessed by a team of experts according to the creativity and imagination, originality and innovativeness, scientific thought/principle/approach, technical skills, workmanship, craftsmanship etc, entrepreneurship, scalability and utility for society in the future, economics (low cost), portability and durability, presentation – effectiveness of display and relevant explanations.
ANNEXURE-B
Guidelines for participation in Guidance Festival – 2024
This event is restricted to the schools under the respective CBSE Regional Offices as mentioned.
Every participant will get a certificate of participation on attending the event.
Schools must register separately for the concerned regional event of Guidance Festival
- 2024 through the specific link provided.
- Each school can nominate 5 students and 2 teachers to attend the concerned regional event of Guidance Festival – 2024, at the respective venue.
- The students and teachers who have been nominated must attend the whole event from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (to be eligible for a certificate).
- The participants shall visit the Skill Expo during breaks and as per the specific time allocated for the same.
Motivational talks and Panel discussions shall be held on the following topics:
- How to develop skills required for the new world
- Future Careers and Importance of Early Planning
Career Planning – live development of a roadmap towards future. Each student will be guided to develop a roadmap towards their future career.
