GUIDELINES FOR USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SOLUTIONS
DR. FAUZIA KHAN:
Will the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government intends to introduce a regulatory framework to give effect to the responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) principles published by the NITI Aayog, or principles of a similar nature;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in place for the AI solutions or programmes to ensure safe, fair, transparent and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence solutions?

(a) to (b): Government is aware that the use of AI raises ethical concerns and risks. The series of papers published by NITI Aayog on the subject of Responsible AI for All highlights these concerns. Government is currently studying the requirement of regulatory framework.
(c): IndiaAI is a comprehensive programme for leveraging transformative technologies to foster inclusion, innovation and adoption for social impact as well as to make India a global leader in the Al space and ensure responsible and transformational use of Al for All. AI is a kinetic enabler of the Trillion-dollar digital economy and innovation ecosystem. Various Central and State government departments and agencies have commenced efforts to standardize responsible AI development, use and promote the adoption of best practices.
