Extension of Last Date for submission of Online Applications for the All India Sainik School Exam (AISSEE) – 2023

Pursuant to requests from various candidates and with a view to enable larger participation, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of exam application forms online, on the following lines:

Candidates will be able to make corrections in any of the details submitted by them in their Exam Application Form online through the correction window at https://aissee.nta.nic.in, during the period when the correction window will be made available. They will also be able to replace the documents already uploaded with the correct documents, in case there has been an error in uploading.

Exam will be held on 08.01.2023 (Sunday) as per schedule.

Candidates are advised to take note of the above and act accordingly.

ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (AISSEE)-2023

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established by Ministry of Education, Government of India an independent/ autonomous, self-reliant and self-sustained premier testing organization.

NTA will be conducting the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE)-2023 for admission to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across the country, for the academic year 2023-24. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE. They prepare cadets to join the National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy and other Training Academies, for Officers.

Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved 18 New Sainik Schools, which operate in partnership with NGOs/ private schools/ State Governments. These approved New Sainik Schools function under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society. Admission to the Sainik School stream of Class VI of the New Sainik Schools, for the academic year 2023-24 is also through AISSEE 2023.

Scheme/duration/medium/syllabus of examination, list of Sainik Schools/New Sainik Schools and their tentative intake, reservation of seats, exam cities, passing requirements, important dates, etc., relating to the exam are contained in the Information Bulletin hosted on www.nta.ac.in/https://aissee.nta.nic.ac.in. Candidates who desire to appear in the exam may read the detailed Information Bulletin for AISSEE 2023 and apply online only at https://aissee.nta.nic.ac.in between 21.10.2022 and 30.11.2022. The exam fee is also required to be paid online through payment gateway, using debit/credit cards or internet banking.

ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN AISSEE 2023

I. For admission to Sainik Schools

a) For admission to Class VI:

• A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI, i.e. he/she should have been born between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.
• Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys.

b) For admission to Class IX:

• A candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as on 31 March 2023, for admission to Class IX, i.e. he should have been born between 01 April 2008 and 31 March 2010 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.
• Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.
• He should have passed Class VIII exam from a recognized school at the time of admission.

II. For admission to approved New Sainik Schools:

Admission to approved New Sainik Schools in the Sainik School stream, for the academic year 2023-24 is only at the level of Class VI.

a) Eligibility requirements are as follows:

• A candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as on 31 March 2023 for admission to Class VI, i.e. he/she should have been born between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.
• Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys.
• Candidates should be studying in one of the New Sainik Schools and must have passed/ appearing in Class V as on 31.03.2023.

Candidates are advised to check the availability of seats for their specific category and gender from Appendix VI of the Information Bulletin carefully.

AISSEE Examination Schedule 2023

AISSEE 2023 will be held on 8th January 2023 (Sunday).

• For admission to Class VI: From 02.00 pm to 04.30 pm
• For admission to Class IX: From 02.00 pm to 5.00 pm
